Monday, May 10, 2021 - 15:00 to 16:00

A book launch for Perceptions of Climate Change from North India: An Ethnographic Account by Aase J. Kvaneid with discussion from Dr. Rita Brara.

Date: Monday, 10 May 2021

Time: 15.00-16.00 CET

Perceptions for Climate Change from North India explores local perceptions of climate change through ethnographic encounters with the men and women who live at the front line of climate change in the lower Himalayas. From data collected over the course of a year in a small village in an eco-sensitive zone in North India, this book represents an ethnographic account of local responses to climate change, resource management, and indigenous environmental knowledge. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of the anthropology of climate change, enviornmental sociology, and rural development.

This event will consist of a conversation with the author led by Dr. Rita Brara, followed by an audience Q&A session.
