Asger Røjle Christensen is an experienced journalist and writer in the field of Asia, especially Japan. He was Tokyo correspondent for a number of Scandinavian news media from 1989 until 1995. He has been foreign editor for the newspaper Aktuelt (1995-2000) and the major Danish news agency Ritzau (2000-2004). He has been editor-in-chief of the radio news magazine Orientering (2004-2006), and since 2006 he has been frontpage editor of the online news department of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. He has published several books about Japan, most recently 'Undskyld på japansk' (Borgens Forlag, 2008) and 'Bortført i København: Japanske skæbner i Nordkorea' (Gyldendal, 2011).
